Throughout the 21st century, the use of technology has grown at an alarming rate. As time continues to move forward, technology is predicted to continue its advancement as well. This in turn will bring many new changes to the way people live their daily life. An important example of change is shown thru social media.

Is this necessarily a good change for our society? I often find myself torn when addressing this argument since I am an avid user of social media, but I also feel it should be something used sparingly. I feel that the use of social media is great since it connects people of different backgrounds and helps create a dialogue between them. It is also great tool for the spreading of current news and for important news that is often overlooked.

Though social media has become an important tool for the spread of information it also has its downsides. I feel social media should be used sparingly since it limits the use of human interaction which is something I feel is necessary in our society. The decline of interaction due to social media is something that I feel could cause drastic negative changes to our society. Another downfall I feel comes with the use of social media is the spreading of "fake news". Though the person who first made term popular is someone I think is completely incompetent, I do think social media plays a major role in the spreading of falsified news stories. Though not completely all bad, I do feel the advancement of social media could cause problems in our society if not used properly.
